Molly Scanlon
Molly Scanlon has been involved in the arts for as long as she can remember. As an active member of her high school’s theatre department, Molly worked in the costume and scene shops, directed, assistant directed, stage managed and occasionally appeared onstage. A few highlights included Costume Mistress for the Kabuki play Iago’s Plot with guest artist Shozo Sato and Assistant Directing/Stage Managing a production of Hamlet that traveled to the Illinois High School Theater Festival at U of I, Steppenwolf Theatre and The Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland.
On the music side, Molly sang in choral and jazz ensembles and played French Horn in band and orchestra. She spent two consecutive summers in the Jazz Vocal program at University of the Arts in Philadelphia. In 2007, Molly graduated with a degree in Music (Voice) from Illinois State University. At ISU she was a member of Women’s Choir for one year and Concert Choir (the top large mixed ensemble) for four years. Senior year, Molly joined the elite 16-voice Madrigal Singers and performed in the 51st annual Madrigal Dinners.
As a founding member of ensemble113, Molly was the Marketing Director for Election Day, Properties Designer for Election Day, The Best Medicine and Reefer Madness! The Musical and served as Production Manager for Brought to Life. Molly currently works in the Engineering Sciences and Applied Mathematics department at Northwestern University and is learning American Sign Language in her spare time.
